About Kathryn Davies
Kathryn Davies has a long family history of tending to animals. Her Great-Great Grand Father was one of the first Veterinarians in Alberta, her Great Grandmother bred purebred sheep, her Grand parents bred purebred horses and dogs. Her Mother, Crystal Davies, breeds Top Best In Show winning Lakeland Terriers under the Affirm prefix. Kathryn was born into a very busy household and began going with her family to dog shows while only weeks old. As soon as she was old enough to walk she began spending all her time with the dogs and playing dog show. Kathryn started in Pee Wees and has quickly progressed from Novice classes into Open classes in very few shows with lots of talented competition. To date she has won 6 Best Overalls in Junior Handling and 3 times Runner Up. Kathryn has received two invitations to compete at Alberta Junior Handling Provincial Finals.
Kathryn enjoys showing dogs of all sizes and has a special place for Lakeland Terriers, Berger Picards, and Bernese Mountain Dogs. She has a strong sense of who she is and dogs feel comfortable from her sense of confidence. At home, Kathryn is a top academic student. She is active in the Manning Avalanche Volleyball Club. She is a member of the Northern Lights Ensemble, and is capable of playing Violin, Cello, and Saxophone. In 2023 she competed in the North Peace Performing Arts Festival and won Red (which is the highest level) for her performance of Saw Mill Creek on the Alto Saxophone. She also won a special award for Best Performance on a Saxophone. Watch for Kathryn to keep up her hard work and dedication both inside and outside the show ring. |
