About Crystal Davies
My name is Crystal Davies and with my husband, Chase, we are Affirm Kennels. My love for dogs began while I was just a baby through my parents, Wilf & Christine Tricker of Tricker Boxers. They always wanted a Boxer so they acquired their foundation female, Murbe's Careless 'Hope', for their kennel when I was only months old. I always loved spending time with the dogs and eventually started training them. My first time in the ring was in Junior Handling Obedience with Tricker's Country Christmas 'Simba' in 1997. Later my parents gave the chance to own my first show dog. I had to choose from a litter of 11 and I decided on a dog named 'Cliff.' He would later become Ch Tricker's Classic Victory SOM. I showed Cliff to his championship as a teenager, all owner handled, in 1999. From then I was hooked and have never looked back.
The first litter that I co-bred, with my mother Christine Tricker, was in 2005. The female was Faith or Ch Tricker's Cause I'm Good DOM and her first litter produced 2 champions, both being Best Puppy In Group Winners. Her next litter produced 2 more champions and gave Faith her Dam Of Merit title awarded by the Boxer Club Of Canada. Among the three other litters I co-bred with my mother there came 5 more champions. Of those five champions they have been awarded a Best Puppy In Show, Multiple Group Placements including First In Group, multiple Best Puppy In Groups, and Multiple Best In Sweepstakes (at specialties and all breed shows). During this time I handled many dogs of various breeds, both winning top awards and finishing championships. |
In 2010 Chase & I decided we wanted to acquire another breed. We wanted a breed I could groom and our daughter Elika could show in Junior Handling. Chase loved the look of the Terriers and I have always admired Lakeland Terriers or more particularly Terri Alloway's Northcote Lakelands. The Northcote Lakeland Terriers have ranked among the Top Terriers in both the US and Canada. They have won numerous Best In Show's including the prestigious Montgomery County Kennel Club. After waiting two years I acquired 'Scout' or MBIS BISS Am Can GCh Northcote's Fire Ranger. He was well worth the wait and has done extremely well in both Canada and the United States. Scout's wins included Best of Breed at the Morris & Essex Kennel Club in Pennsylvania at a designated United States Lakeland Terrier Club Specialty with the Top Lakeland Terrier in the USA in attendance, 3 Best In Shows, 3 Reserve Best In Shows, Best of Opposite Sex at Westminster Kennel Club in New York City 2016, finished his American Championship by showing/winning solely at Montgomery County Kennel Club weekend including one 4 point major and three 5 point majors, Multiple First In Group wins (both US & Canada), and 4 Best Puppy In Shows. As his Owner/Handler in Western Canada I am thrilled to share every win with Scout's Breeder and Co-Owner Terri Alloway and Professional Handler Kim Wendling.

In 2015 I acquired Abby or Ch Larkspur Acadia Ready For Action who is co-owned by Terri Alloway as our foundation female. Abby comes from a line of Best In Show winning Lakeland Terriers bred by Susan Fraser of Larkspur Lakeland Terriers. She has done well in the ring winning all her Canadian championship points with Group Placements, as well as Multiple Best Puppy In Groups, and Multiple Best In Specialty Sweepstakes including the United States Lakeland Terrier National Sweepstakes in 2015. While we plan on showing her more, for now Abby has produced some lovely puppies, including my Striker or MBPIS Can GCh Northcote Affirm Awestruck. Striker is bred owned by Terri Alloway and myself. He is solely Breeder Owner Handled and has won 2 Best In Shows, 2 Reserve Best In Shows, 11 Best Puppy In Shows, 21 Group Firsts including a Limited Terrier show, 20 Group Placements, 20 Best Puppy In Groups, and all over two years in 16 weekends. He has ranked as the #1 Lakeland Terrier In Canada, #1 Terrier Puppy, #3 Puppy All Breeds and a Top Ten Terrier and awarded the Evelyn Kenny Memorial Award for the #1 Dog All Breeds - Breeder Owner Handled - living in Alberta.

In 2019 I bred Abby to a stunning dog from Germany named MBIS MCh Paperman Atlantis owned by Friedrich-Wilhelm Schoneberg of Germany. From that breeding we kept one female I called Cahri. I began showing Cahri or MBIS BISS GChS Affirm's Charismatic full time in 2022. As of November she has acquired 9 Best In Shows and broke the record for Most Best In Shows won by a Lakeland Terrier female. Cahri also stands as #1 Breeder Owner Handled of All Breeds in Canada, #4 Female of All Breeds, #3 Terrier, and #1 Lakeland Terrier. I also had the privilege to show the lovely Dalmatian Atari or GChS Winterspear Atari Dreams CAX AS who is Owned by Salena Morrill. Together we won Multiple Group Firsts and her first Best In Show. She is ranked the #1 Dalmatian in Breed points and #9 Non Sporting In Canada. During my handling career I have finished well over 100 Canadian Champions and have handled dogs to 20 Best In Shows on four different breeds. Handling inquiries can send to my email at [email protected]
As a handler I mainly show in Western Canada and usually have my family with me. Our children included: Elika who was born in 2008, Joshua who was born in 2010, and Kathryn who was born in 2012. At home we have our Lakelands Scout, Abby, Striker, and Cahri. Our daughters have shown interest in showing dogs as well and now carry on a three generation interest in the hobby of purebred dogs. Have a look at their pages to see their accomplishments.
